Our Services

Professional Tree Services in Prairie Village, KS

Kansas storms bring strong winds, ice, and heavy rain that put stress on the city’s older trees. Combined with tight lots and aging root systems, these conditions lead to a steady need for removal, trimming, and cleanup work.

Tree Removal

Established neighborhoods like Corinth Hills, Indian Fields, and Somerset Hills often have large trees close to homes and fences. We handle hazardous and dead tree removal in tight spaces near shared property lines. Our crews also work near commercial corridors, keeping nearby structures and utilities risk-free.

Tree Cutting

Many older Prairie Village properties still have mature trees that need full felling. In areas like Prairie Hills, Kenilworth, and Mission Pines, storms and soil stress often leave trees unstable or declining. We use directional tree felling for land clearing and stability, even on compact suburban lots.

Tree Trimming

Routine tree pruning keeps streets like W 70th Terrace, Roe Ave, and Somerset Dr. looking neat and aesthetic. Overgrown limbs near rooftops, driveways, and sidewalks also need regular branch clearance to avoid damage. Local neighborhoods need this upkeep to reduce conflicts between neighbors and overgrown trees.

Stump Grinding

After a removal, leftover stumps take up space and attract pests. In neighborhoods like Prairie Ridge and Calvin Crest, our grinding machine clears stumps fast and leaves the yard usable again. This service works well for older mid-century lots with stumps from past tree removals.

Stump Removal

Tight residential yards often need full root removal to clear space for their new or next property makeover. In developing neighborhood areas, property owners need this service before starting new projects. Removing the stump and roots gives you clean, level ground to build on.

Emergency Tree Service

Wind and ice storms can bring down trees and block driveways across the city. We provide emergency tree removal near Bremerton Park Apartments and Mission Chateau Senior Living. Our crews respond fast to clear roadside trees and protect homes, roads, and utilities near Mission Road and W 75th St.

Why Choose Midwest Tree?

Why Homeowners Choose Midwest Tree in Prairie Village?

Property owners across the city trust Midwest Tree because we know the local trees, soil, and weather better than most. As local tree experts, we bring an ISA-certified arborist, a free estimate, and the right equipment to every project.

Careful Work in Residential Spaces

Many lots here sit close to neighboring homes and shared fence lines. We plan each cut to avoid damage to nearby property and keep your tree maintenance project on track.

Local Arborist Knowledge

Bur oak, red oak, maple, honeylocust, and redbud all grow throughout the city. Each of them reacts differently to clay soil and storm stress. Our arborist recognizes the early signs and recommends the best tree care approach.

Storm Response Experience

Older neighborhoods with thick canopy see frequent wind and ice damage during Kansas storms. We respond fast to fallen or leaning trees, using bucket trucks and crane support to clear them.

Respect for Local Tree Law

Boundary trees in this city need consent from both owners before removal. Permits also apply to protected trees during construction projects. We stay current on these limits and handle permits and paperwork for you.

Property Protection Focus

Our team plans every cut around homes, roofs, and driveways before work begins. As a fully licensed and insured company, we carry full liability during the job.

How Our Tree Care Process Works

We follow the same process on every property throughout Prairie Village. From the first look at your tree to the final cleanup, you know what to expect at each step.

Property Assessment

The projects start with our arborist checking the tree’s condition, the soil condition, and any nearby risks. Clay soil throughout the city can shift root stability, so we factor that into our plan.

Safety Planning

Once we know what we’re working with, we pick equipment that fits your yard and the job ahead. Tight lots across the city often need cranes or bucket trucks instead of larger machines.

Controlled Execution

For larger trees or tricky spots, we use directional removal or cut the tree down in sections. We execute trimming or seasonal care as needed, without damaging your fence or nearby structures.

Cleanup & Site Restoration

Once the main job is complete, our crew clears branches, logs, and debris from your yard. Your property gets left clean and ready to use again.

They did nothing to protect the grass is my backyard. While cutting down the tree across the street from us they knocked branches on my tree and said nothing to me.

I was planning to cut down a diseased chanticleer pear tree in my backyard, and needed the stump ground and removed and the branches and debris hauled off. I called Midwest and one other company. The other company never returned my call, but Midwest got back to me right away. I sent pictures, and their bid was very reasonable, in line with my expectations, so I agreed. I asked when they could do the work, and they said, "Today or tomorrow morning." I replied that I hadn't cut down the tree yet, and asked how much extra that would cost. When they told me, I couldn't believe it - I went ahead and had them remove the tree as well. They came out the next morning with a full crew. The supervisor also recommended trimming the river birch in our front yard, which we knew was needed, so they did that as well - also for a reasonable price. They were done in a few hours, did a thorough job, and left the yard clean. I highly recommend them.

Great service at a great price. Had them come out to do some brush cleanup initially, and had two trees removed on top of that for I price I didn't think possible. They were out two days after my quote and did a great job with the removals and cleanup. Will definitely use them again.
